Hawarden, Iowa — The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Flood Warning for an area of the KIWA listening area.
The warning is in effect for the Big Sioux River above Hawarden, and the Big Sioux River At Akron . The Flood Warning continues for The Big Sioux River above Hawarden until further notice.
According to the Weather Service the river level above Hawarden was 24.0-feet. Flood Stage is 20.5-feed. Minor flooding has been reported, and moderate flooding is forecast.
The National Weather Service predicts that the river will crest Tuesday (April 24th), at 24.2-feet.
Officials warn you to not drive cars through flooded areas. The water depth and road condition may be unsafe.
