Get Ready Now For Sheldon’s Annual Spring Cleanup

Sheldon, Iowa — It’s almost time for the annual City of Sheldon Spring Clean Up — so it’s time to start planning what you’re going to get rid of and how.

Flags are on sale now at City Hall at the Community Services Center. City officials tell us that pick up begins Monday, April 29, 2019.

When you pay the $15 fee, you will receive a flag that must be prominently displayed at your home with your items to be picked up.

According to officials, there is an additional $10 fee for electronics and appliances per item. When you pay that fee, you’ll get a sticker for the item, which needs to be placed in a highly visible area.

(Electronics and Appliances are described as: Air Conditioners, Clothes Dryer, Clothes Washer, Dehumidifier, Freezer, Furnace, Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Water Heater, Computer, Monitor, Tower, Printer, Television, DVD Player, VCR Player, Copier).

The deadline to get a flag or stickers is Friday, April 26th, at 3 p.m. They remind us that no payments will be accepted at the time of pick up.

Rules:
1. ITEMS MUST BE PLACED CURBSIDE by 7:00 a.m. Monday morning and no earlier than the weekend before pickup. No items will be picked up on the alleys. After the city crew goes past your house, you will not be allowed to deposit more items. Trees/brush and appliances/electronics may be picked up separately.
