Northwest Iowa — Iowa’s senior senator, Chuck Grassley is coming to our area next week.
Senator Grassley is holding six town meetings in Iowa. Two of them were on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, and the other ones will be August 29th through the 31st. The meetings are part of his annual 99 county meetings.
These six open town meetings are in addition to question-and-answer sessions at local businesses, high schools and service clubs in two dozen counties.
Grassley says that representative government is a two-way street. He says he’s one-half of the process and the people of Iowa are the other half. Grassley says you can’t have representative government without dialogue between elected officials and the people they represent. He says he appreciates the opportunity to hold town meetings, answer questions and take comments from Iowans.
Grassley will be in O’Brien County on August 29th, and Osceola County on August 30th.
Grassley is in his 37th year of holding meetings in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. Grassley has held at least one meeting in every county, every year since he was first elected to serve in the U.S. Senate. He takes and answers questions on any subject raised.
These town meetings are open to the public.
On Tuesday, August 29th, Grassley will be at the Primghar Community Building on First Street Southeast from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
On Wednesday, August 30th, Senator Grassley will be at the Sibley Senior Center from 8:00 until 9:00 a.m. The Senior Center is at 612 Eighth Street in Sibley.
The senator will also be in both Mapleton and Harlan on August 31st.
