Sheldon, Iowa — With spring comes severe weather season. Each year severe storms cause a great deal of damage to homes, vehicles, and crops in the upper midwest.
Julie Rust of Prins Insurance in Sheldon recalls the last big hailstorm that pelted Sheldon, causing major roof damage to homes and businesses.
She says despite that damage, Sheldon has been very lucky for the past few years.
Rust says that, in addition to damage to homes and automobiles, a hailstorm can be devastating to farmers.
She says that now, before the first storm of the season, is the time to check with your insurance agent and make sure you have adequate coverage.
For motorists, Rust had this advice for avoiding hail damage to your automobile.
