Macmain Gets Two Years In O’Brien County Case

Primghar, Iowa — An Ashton woman who was accused of passing stolen, forged checks in multiple jurisdictions in western Iowa will face prison time for her O’Brien County crimes.

In all, 24-year-old Nikarra Macmain of Ashton is facing or has faced over 30 counts of forgery, ten counts of identity theft, three counts of theft, and seven counts of lottery forgery, plus various other charges, several of which were dismissed in plea agreements.

She was sentenced in multiple counties to five-year prison terms and two-year prison terms, with all of them to run concurrently, meaning that she will likely only face five years in prison on all the charges.

Macmain was supposed to be sentenced in O’Brien County on May 22nd, but according to court records, she has been sentenced to two years in prison plus fines for her O’Brien County crimes, with the sentence to run concurrently to those imposed in the Palo Alto County cases.

She also still faces five counts of forgery, two of ID theft, and one of third-degree theft in Dickinson County. She has not entered a plea in Dickinson County. She is scheduled to be arraigned there on June 5th.
