Northwest Iowa — You’ll be able to help feed the hungry next week, just by buying a product that’s found in most every refrigerator in the area.
Iowa Egg Farmers, in partnership with Fareway Stores, Inc, are conducting a Buy Two, Give One promotion that will run from this coming Monday, December 18th through Saturday, December 23rd. Here’s how it works, when you buy two dozen eggs at Fareway in Sheldon, or any Fareway Store, a dozen eggs will automatically be donated to the Food Bank of Iowa.
Drew Mast is Assistant Manager of the Fareway Store in Sheldon, and he says Fareway is always eager to do things like this promotion, to help those in need.
Mast calls eggs a very affordable source of protein, and says this program will not only help feed the hungry, but help Iowa, in general.
He says that, with Christmas coming at the end of the Buy Two, Give One promotion, you’ll be able to help others just by buying the eggs you’ll need for your Christmas baking.
Fareway’s CEO, Reynolds W. Cramer, says the Food Bank of Iowa will directly benefit from this program, with Fareway’s matching donation of up to 21,600 DOZEN eggs.
Fareway’s Buy Two, , Give One promotion begins this coming Monday and runs through December 23rd.
