Highway 18 Traffic Light In Sheldon Being Replaced

Sheldon, Iowa — Use caution around the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Highway 18 today. Crews are replacing the traffic light system and temporary stop signs have been put out instead.

Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl tells us what’s happening.

Whenever you bring up cameras and traffic lights, people think that they are going to be receiving traffic tickets for running red lights or speeding, but Uhl says that’s not the case.

He says people should expect some minor traffic disruptions.

Uhl says the estimate for the cost of replacing the light is $22,500.
