Sheldon, Iowa — Some telephone and internet subscribers who get their service from HTC Communications experienced an outage late Tuesday afternoon.
HTC Communications Chief Executive Officer Dave Raak tells us that it started with some routine maintenance that turned into something not so routine.
He tells us what technicians were attempting to do on Tuesday.
Raak says the work involved an IP change.
He says this is the second time they’ve lost their switch. He says the first time was due to the failure of a card in a router. He says they were able to increase the bandwidth on Tuesday, so people on cable modem service should notice improved performance.
