Hy-Vee Serving Free Breakfast To Veterans Monday Morning

Sheldon, Iowa — The official observance of Veteran’s Day is this coming Monday, November 12th, and Hy-Vee will be providing a free breakfast for all veteran’s and active-duty military personnel at each of their 245 stores, including the Hy-Vee in Sheldon.

On Monday Hy-Vee will host its annual Veterans Day breakfast to recognize and thank veterans and active-duty military members for their service, and provide them with a complimentary meal. Officials at the Sheldon Hy-Vee tell KIWA that the free breakfasts for veterans will be served at the Sheldon store Monday morning from 6:00 to 11:00 in their Hy-Vee Kitchen.

The Veterans Day breakfasts are part of the Hy-Vee Homefront initiative, which is comprised of several company efforts, including the “Hy-Vee Round Up for the Homefront” program, Honor Flights, and veterans and military member employee recruitment.

Hy-Vee corporate officials say now through Nov. 18th, Hy-Vee customers can help support veterans by rounding up their purchases to the next dollar — or a desired dollar amount — at the checkout. Hy-Vee will match customer donations, up to $100-thousand. All proceeds from Hy-Vee’s Round Up program benefit four organizations that support veterans and their families: Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, the Puppy Jake Foundation and the American Red Cross.

In addition to the free breakfast, veterans will also receive 10% off their grocery bill when they shop at Hy-Vee on Monday, November 12th.
