Mood Now “Quiet” In Orange City After RAGBRAI Leaves

Orange City, Iowa — “And all of a sudden, it was quiet.” That’s how Orange City’s RAGBRAI publicity committee chairperson Jenon Scallon described the mood late Sunday morning in Orange City after thousands of RAGBRAI bicyclists and support people left town.

Scallon says all-in-all, things went off without a hitch.

She says many riders even told them how much they enjoyed the Orange City experience.

Scallon says it was a different experience.

She says that thanks to their Tulip Festival, Orange City is used to having thousands of visitors, but the pace of this experience is much quicker.

RAGBRAI riders and those supporting them headed for Spencer on Sunday and Algona on Monday. Tuesday night will be spent in Clear Lake, with Charles City, Cresco and Waukon being the overnight towns on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The ride will conclude Saturday in Lansing.
