Sheldon, Iowa — KIWA has been told that there have been people in Sheldon this (Friday) afternoon who are attempting to pass counterfeit $50 and $20-bills.
According to our sources, an attempt was made to pass one of the bills at a Sheldon convenience store. The store clerk reportedly thought the individuals attempting to pass the bill were acting suspicious, and refused to accept the bill from the individual who was attempting to use it to pay for $5 worth of gasoline.
Merchants in Sheldon, and the surrounding area, are urged to be on the lookout for these bills, and be sure to examine larger bills before accepting them.
