NCC Student-Athlete From Sibley To Help Try For World Record

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sibley student-athlete at NCC has the opportunity to be part of a team trying for a world record.

Northwest Iowa Community College Thunder Sports Shooting student-athlete Levi Henrichs of Sibley has been selected as one of the four team members to join David Miller of firearms manufacturer CZ-USA in his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most clay targets shot in 12 hours by a team of five. David Miller is the current Guinness World Records title holder for the most sporting clay targets shot in one hour.

This world record attempt will be on October 12, 2019, at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, Kansas.

Henrichs says that he is excited to have been chosen to be a part of the five-person CZ-USA team to attempt to break a Guinness world record. He says it’ll be a lot of fun and a proud achievement.

Henrichs competed at the 2019 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Championships July 13-20 at the Cardinal Shooting Center near Marengo, OH which was a qualifying event for the Guinness World Record Attempt.

Henrichs shot a 191/200 and a 45/50 during his appearance.

He also needed to submit a written essay explaining what shooting means to him and why he deserves to be on a World Record Team.

Brian Lauck, NCC Head Sports Shooting Coach said, “This is a great opportunity for Levi. I know he will do a fantastic job.”
