New Judge Appointed For Sioux, Five Other Counties

Des Moines, Iowa — A Sergeant Bluff attorney has been named a judge for part of our area.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has announced her appointment of Robert Tiefenthaler as a district court judge in Judicial Election District 3B.

Tiefenthaler, of Sergeant Bluff, currently practices law as a sole practitioner in Sioux City. The governor’s office tells us Tiefenthaler received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and his law degree from the University of South Dakota Law School.

They say Tiefenthaler fills the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of District Court Judge Jeffrey Poulson. Judicial Election District 3B includes Sioux, Crawford, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, and Woodbury counties.
