Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon has a new chamber director.
According to Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation (SCDC) Executive Director Curt Strouth, Shantel Oostra has been selected as the next Sheldon Chamber Director.
Strouth says he’s excited to make the announcement.
He tells us that Oostra has spent the last four years working for Love INC as their training and events coordinator, where he says she coordinated and executed all of the national training and events.
According to Strouth, Oostra has also been very involved with the Sheldon community over the years by living in Sheldon and serving as both the Chairperson of the High School Project Prom Committee and the President for Orab Music Boosters.
Strouth says, “This very valuable past experience, along with Shantel’s passion and vast skill set, will be an asset both to our community and SCDC Membership.”
He says Oostra’s official full-time start date is set for Monday, November 4th. She’ll take over for Shanelle Matus who served 12 years as chamber director in two different stints and announced her resignation a month ago, which is effective November 1st.
