O’Brien County UDMO Food Bank Needs Donations Due To High Demand

Primghar, Iowa — Record numbers of Iowa families relied on food pantries during the pandemic, but with increased federal benefits through the SNAP program, some pantries are finally seeing a bit less traffic. However, Brenda Collier of O’Brien County’s Upper Des Moines Opportunities office in Primghar says their demand had been low, but has now begun to pick up, and she tells us why.

Collier says the UDMO Food Bank has some needs at this time. Primarily they’re looking for donations of non-perishable items.

She says they can always use, and can now accept, donations of perishable grocery items, as well.

Collier says the need for the services O’Brien County UDMO provides has skyrocketed, so she has one request.

She says those O’Brien County residents who need to access the UDMO Food Bank should call their office at 712-957-1023.
