Sheldon Celebration Days Is This Weekend

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s annual Celebration Days will be held this weekend, and organizers say this year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever, after having to cancel last year’s event due to the pandemic.

Sheldon Chamber Director Shantel Oostra tells us Celebration Days begins Thursday evening.

Oostra tells us about something new this year, a Downtown Block Party, that will take place Friday afternoon.

She says another new feature this year will be a performance by the Judd Hoos Band. The group will be performing in the City Park Saturday night.

Then on Sunday, Oostra says the traditional Celebration Days Worship Service will be held. But, she says, it will be held at a different time and in a new location.

Also Sunday is another first for Sheldon Celebration Days.

Sunday’s festivities will wrap up with the traditional Car Cruise from 6 until 9 pm. The Sheldon Eagles Club parking lot will feature a live DJ, as well as the food truck from Brady’s Pub during Cruise Night.

Labor Day Monday is the last and biggest day of Sheldon Celebration Days and Oostra tells us about just a few of the things going on Monday.

Also on Monday, the traditional Celebration Days Car Show will be held on the lawn in front of the Sheldon High School from 9 am to 3 pm.

Correct performance times for Sheldon Community Theater are Saturday at 7:30 with doors opening at 7:00. Sunday is a matinee with doors opening at 1:30 with performance at 2:00. A complete schedule of Sheldon Celebration Days activities may be seen below…….
