O’Brien Supervisors Approve EMS System Development Funds

O’Brien County, Iowa — When the O’Brien County Board of Supervisors met in regular session this (Tuesday, May 3rd) morning they approved the EMS System Development Funds for the 22-23 fiscal year.

County Auditor Barb Rohwer tells KIWA that a total of $150,000 is in that fund for the fiscal year that begins July 1st, and the lion’s share of it was allocated during Tuesday’s meeting. She says $20,000 was approved for the Hartley Ambulance Team, $20,000 for the Paullina Ambulance Team, $20,000 for the Sanborn Ambulance Team, $30,000 for the Primghar Ambulance Team and $40,000 for SCAT.

Rohwer says this funding is substantially higher than that of the current fiscal year, which amounted to a total of slightly more than $70,000.

In other action, the Supervisors set a pair of public hearings for their May 24th meeting. The first is scheduled for 9:30 am and is on the proposed amendments to the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The second is scheduled for 9:45 that morning, and will be on the Fiscal Year 2022 County Budget.
