Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City teen faces a felony sex abuse charge after his arrest on Friday, February 3rd, 2017.
The Orange City Police Department reports that they arrested 19-year-old Axel Reyes of Orange City on Friday on an outstanding warrant for a charge of Sexual Abuse, Third Degree.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Orange City Police Department.
According to the criminal complaint, the police allege that on or about September 11th, 2016, Reyes, who was 18 years of age at the time of the incident, admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.
Third Degree Sexual Abuse is a Class “C” Felony. If convicted, Reyes could face up to ten years in prison and a fine of between $1,000 and $10,000, according to Iowa Code.
