Part Of Sutherland Under Boil Order

Sutherland, Iowa — The City of Sutherland has posted a boil order — but it’s just for a portion of the city.

A broken fire hydrant needed to be replaced, and the water needed to be shut off, say city officials. They say they posted the notice on homes that were affected by the boil order.

Due to the potential for bacteria, the boil order was issued for the area of Alpine and East Beech Streets. City officials tell us that if the sample taken on Monday for bacteria testing comes back negative, the boil order will be lifted.
