Sutherland, Iowa — The Prairie Heritage Center has two opportunities you to get outdoors coming up on Thursday.
Get out early and savor the morning coolness! Take part in the O’Brien County Walking Group event for August. This event is co-sponsored by the O’Brien County Conservation Board and O’Brien County Public Health Department.
Take a stroll along Sneakers Run Trail from Primghar to Tjossem Park. The group will look at birds, insects and whatever else may cross the path. Meet at the trail head at the south end of Hayes Avenue in Primghar at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2. The walk will last approximately 40 minutes.

A survival camp for beginners will be held on Thursday, August 2 at the Prairie Heritage Center. Youths ages 11-14 will meet at the Prairie Heritage Center at 10:00 am.
Some basic survival skills – such as compasses, plant identification, track identification, fire starting and more – will be covered. After lunch, “minute to win it” style competitions will test participants skills. Youth are asked to bring a sack lunch.
