Projected Starting Date Released For Sheldon Crossing Stoplight Project

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon will be getting a brand new stoplight and a safer intersection on Highway 18 on the east side of town near the Highway 60 expressway.

Sheldon Public Works Director Todd Uhl tells us about the project at the intersection of Highway 18 and North Runger Avenue/34th Avenue near Taco John’s.

He says the contractor plans to start work on May 15th. Uhl tells us it’s expected to take about ten weeks to complete the project, weather permitting, which puts completion somewhere in late July.

He tells us what you can expect when the contractor gets started.

Basically, he says, when that part of the project is underway, use the back way if you can.

Uhl tells us the way will be signed, and the speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles per hour during construction, which, again, should begin by about the middle of next month.
