Boyden, Iowa — An area farm equipment manufacturer is partnering with an area health system and its foundation to promote breast cancer awareness and prevention.
Demco spokesperson Kevin Ten Haken tells us the thoughts behind the idea.
Ten Haken tells us that Demco is partnering with Mitographers, in Sioux Falls in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. He says they are offering pink magnetic ribbon decals to anyone that owns a Demco Ag product, free of charge, to place on their wagon, cart, trailer, etc. He says that for every photo that is sent to Demco with the pink ribbon decal displayed on their equipment, Demco will make a donation to The Northwest Iowa Health Center Foundation Breast Cancer Awareness Fund — a partner of Sanford Sheldon hospital. This fund assists patients with the costs of mammograms should they not have insurance or insurance coverage that covers screening mammograms. The patient must apply for financial assistance and meet the financial criteria.
According to Ten Haken, they are glad to be able to partner with the Sheldon foundation.
