RiseFest Permanent Stage Progress “Going Wonderful”

Sheldon, Iowa — Each summer a temporary stage has been constructed for the RiseFest Christian Music Festival in Sheldon but in February, the Sheldon Board of Adjustment voted to help clear the way for a permanent stage structure to be built on the RiseFest grounds and progress on the stage is going quite well.

Rob Rozeboom, founder and president of Rise Ministries, tells us why a permanent stage was needed.

(As said, “The big thing is we’re hoping, 1. that we can do more events out there throughout the year as a community or a region. The other part is by having a permanent stage, it takes a decent amount of money out of our operating budget every year because we don’t have to rent one, which makes a big difference.”)

Rozeboom tells us how the construction progress is going.

(As said, “It’s going wonderful. You know if it was a normal year and RiseFest was going to happen on Father’s day weekend I may be a little nervous, but since we’re Labor Day, things are going wonderful. I’m not the contractor so I can’t say exactly everything that’s left on it, but it’s looking great. They were actually working on railings today when I was out there. Steps went in for the back docking area yesterday.”)

Rozeboom says he believes the stage will be ready for RiseFest in September.

(As said, “I would sure hope so. I think we may have even gotten close to having it ready for Father’s Day. It should definitely be ready to go by Labor Day weekend.”)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RiseFest team moved the date from their normal June weekend to Labor Day weekend, September 4th and 5th. Rozeboom gives us an update about how everything is progressing for the music festival.

(As said, “We’re in the middle of obviously  moving forward obviously to Labor Day weekend, trying to figure out how we can best do it. Implementing new policies that we will put in place. We’re excited that we were able to keep all but one artist for the new date in September. We’re depressed that we lost Matthew West, but we’re so grateful  that we were able to keep everyone else in that lineup. The other thing is we are keeping the early bird special running through June 30, so you can still get discounted tickets and things like that. There will be some other announcements coming out in the near future, but that’s what’s happening right now.”)

Once again, RiseFest will be happening September 4th and 5th on the RiseFest Grounds in Sheldon.
