Roundabout Now Under Construction On Highway 10: Detour In Place

Orange City, Iowa — As was previously advertised, the Iowa DOT is now installing a roundabout on Highway 10 in Orange City.

DOT Transportation Planner Dakin Schultz says while there are roundabouts on city streets in the area, including one near the Crossroads Pavilion in Sheldon, this is the first one that the Iowa DOT is installing on a highway in the 20-county area known as DOT District 3.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office advises that from now through Thursday, April 27, Highway 10 will be closed west of the Jay Avenue intersection. They tell us the highway is closed for westbound traffic, but will be open east of this intersection. Drivers are able to go south at that intersection on Jay Avenue or North on St. Paul Avenue. There is also access to Pizza Ranch. However, they tell us that west of there, drivers will need to use an alternative route. One lane closure and stop light will be in place after April 27.

A detour is in place using Highway 60 at Alton, B58, and K64 into Orange City from the south.
