Sheldon, Iowa — Coming up this Monday, May 16th, 2016, it’s the annual SCAT Supper and Sanford Sheldon Health Fair.
The health fair gets underway a half hour earlier and finishes a half hour later than the supper. The fair will start at 4:30 PM, and the supper will start at 5. The supper wraps up at 7 PM, and the health fair closes at 7:30.
The supper this year will feature ribeye steak sandwiches or hamburgers instead of broasted chicken, as in years past.
The event will be at Northwest Iowa Community College’s Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center.
Rick Nordahl, CEO of Sanford Sheldon says he’s looking forward to the Sanford Health Fair.
Nordahl gives us a sneak peak of what they’ll be promoting.
He says they’ll be telling people about their expanded clinic hours.
Nordahl says they’re also promoting MySanfordChart, which allows scheduling of appointments, viewing test results, and communication with your provider, either on a computer or via a smartphone app.
He says they’re also excited about the research that Sanford is doing in genomics and adult stem cells, among other areas. He says that research will affect all of the Sanford facilities, including Sheldon.
He also says they’ll also be welcoming a new physician to Sheldon at the end of July.
Again the SCAT Supper and Health Fair is this Monday night at the NCC LLRC building.
