SCORE Mentor: Help And Advice Available For Small Businesses

Northwest Iowa — If you’re starting a small business or running a small business and need some assistance, there’s someone who can help.

Sheriffa Jones is the Spencer Chamber Executive Director and she is a mentor for a group called “SCORE.” She tells us more.

Originally SCORE was an acronym for the “Service Corps of Retired Executives.” Founded in 1964, SCORE is a nonprofit organization that provides free and confidential business mentoring services. And it now includes many different kinds of mentors, not just retired executives.

Jones tells us how they can help.

She says they can help you find a grant for your business too.

Jones tells us that SCORE has been around for quite a while, but the way they help people has evolved through the years.

If you’d like to find out more, Jones says the best place to start is online.

That website again is score.org.
