Seven New Cases Of COVID Reported Here Saturday

Northwest Iowa — Seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the four northwesternmost Iowa counties on Saturday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Three new cases were reported in Sioux County, two more Lyon County and two more O’Brien County residents tested positive. Osceola County is unchanged. About twelve percent of northwest Iowans have tested positive for COVID since March 2020. Roughly one person in eight in this area has tested positive at some point since that time.

O’Brien’s death total remains at 54, and Sioux’s remains at 67. Lyon’s remains at 40, while Osceola’s remains at 13. The death toll for the area is at 174 since the pandemic began.

Out of the 1,423 Lyon County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,318 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 93%.
Out of the 4,690 Sioux County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 4,486 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 96%.
Out of the 1,764 O’Brien County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 1,635 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 93%.
Out of the 658 Osceola County residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 626 of them have recovered, for a recovery rate of about 95%.

Osceola County currently has 19 active cases, which is unchanged in the last 24 hours. There were 75 in O’Brien County, which is down three, and 65 in Lyon County, which is down one. Sioux County has 137 active cases, which is down two.
