Sheldon Blood Drive Will Be On Good Friday

Sheldon, Iowa — The timing of a blood drive next week in Sheldon could make one think about sacrifice.

The Community Blood Bank will have a blood drive next Friday, April 15th. In the Christian religion, it’s known as Good Friday, the day when Jesus Christ sacrificed his blood and his life to save people from their sins.

Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken VerSteeg tells us about it.

The blood supply has been in dire need recently, but VerSteeg says while they are on the upswing, they’re still not where they need to be, so your donations would be appreciated.

He says their biggest need is for type O blood right now, both negative and positive.

For this blood drive, VerSteeg says they want you to call Citizen’s State Bank directly to sign up for a time, at 712-324-2519. He says they will be taking walk-ins, but they encourage appointments. Again, the drive is Friday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
