Sheldon City Offices Open By Appointment Only

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker has released a statement outlining the City of Sheldon’s response to the Emergency COVID-19 Decree made by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds earlier this week.

Kooiker says that for your safety and the safety of the City’s staff, and in keeping with the theme of the Governor’s Proclamation, the Sheldon Community Services Center (City Hall) at 416 9th Street is currently open by appointment only. Kooiker says the offices are currently fully staffed at City Hall, and in order to stay fully staffed and operational, they are taking this precaution. In addition to the City Office, Kooiker advises you to call 324-2525 for the Police Department non-emergency line. Call 911 only if an emergency.

To reach the Sheldon City Clerk’s Office, please call 324-4651 (between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM). Utility payments may be paid online or in the drop box on the west side of City Hall. https://sheldoniowa.com/city-services/

He says the SCDC (Chamber and Econ Development) can be reached at 324-2813.

Kooiker says most of the upcoming events at the Crossroads Pavilion have been cancelled by the organizers. The Pavilion can be contacted at 631-4336. Please allow time for a response, and if you need a more immediate response, call the Clerk’s office at 324-4651.

He says the Sheldon Public Library is separately governed, and the Library Board will soon be considering similar action.

Kooiker reminds us that Sheldon is a great place, and we will get through this together.
