Sheldon Schools: Few Students Participating In TikTok Bad Behavior

Sheldon, Iowa — A couple of recent trends on the social media platform TikTok have encouraged middle and high school students to engage in bad behavior. Sheldon Community Schools Superintendent Cory Myer says that while few Sheldon students are participating in the trends, there are consequences for those who do.

He says as a whole, behavior is quite good.

The first trend told students to vandalize school bathrooms and steal items. The second trend tells students to commit what amounts to an assault on a teacher — slapping their backside. In addition to the bad behavior ideas that have come out, a list of bad behaviors, one for each month through December has surfaced online. But it’s not known if the two are connected. Myer says there are penalties for bad behavior.

Myer says if students do engage in these acts, law enforcement could be called.

Myer says they are attempting to determine the best approach to dealing with this.
