Sheldon United Fund Needs $8000 Before Year’s End

Sheldon, Iowa — Donations to the 2019 Sheldon United Fund are a little behind, and over $8000 needs to be raised before the end of the month.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $30,000.

The fund drive is now 82% finished. The funds are at about 72% of goal, at $21,732. Over $8,200 has yet to be raised. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $3600 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $1,530.

Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at Citizen’s State Bank, Iowa State Bank, Northwestern Bank, or People’s Bank; or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the banks.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

· Prairie Arts Council
· Rise Ministries, Inc
· Excellence for East (Sheldon East Elementary)
· Sheldon Ministerial Association

The United Fund will be assisting 23 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and the board members thank the businesses and individuals of Sheldon and the surrounding communities for their continued support.
