Sheldon, Iowa — A local Sheldon winemaker will be on hand Friday and Saturday for a wine tasting event at Marigolds in downtown Sheldon.  Glenn Davey, of Grandma’s Fruit Juice Winery in Sheldon will be sharing information and answering questions during the event.

Davey talks about the origins of the winery, and how it got it’s name.

He says Grandma’s Fruit Juice Winery began making wines commercially at the urging of area stores.

Davey says the winery produces no dry wines, but concentrate on semi-sweet and sweet wines.

He says that, thus far, Grandma’s Fruit Juice Winery has produced no grape wines, but they’re working on their first.

Davey says the winery’s newest offering will have a rather colorful name.

She says not only can you sample wines from Grandma’s Fruit Juice Winery during this weekend’s wine tasting, but Davey will be available to offer expert advice in selecting the right wine.
