Sibley, Iowa — The Sibley Chamber of Commerce held a “First Dollar Earned” ceremony Wednesday at Capital Armaments in Sibley. Capital Armaments manufactures ammunition and firearms, and a relocated to Sibley from Minnesota a few months ago.
Clint Gerner is one of the owners of Capital Armaments, and he says they’re humbled and amazed by the level of support they’ve received from the Sibley community.
Gerner says the company’s move to Sibley was brought on by a combination of lack of space for their growing business, and regulatory concerns in Minnesota.
He says that Capital Armaments is currently housed in a temporary location, with groundbreaking for their permanent home in Sibley set for later this spring.
Gerner says that, while the company now employs five people, plans are in place to expand the workforce once they’re in their permanent home.
Capital Armaments is currently located in the southeastern part of Sibley, in the Industrial Park.
