Umbarger, Texas — A Sioux Center man has died in the collision of two semis near Amarillo, Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 29-year-old Rogelio Rangel of Dumas, Texas was westbound in a semi on U.S. Highway 60, about 20 miles southeast of Amarillo. They report that 24-year-old Christopher Vanden Berg of Sioux Center was eastbound on the four-lane divided highway, also driving a semi truck.
They report that for some reason Vanden Berg crossed over the center median, colliding with the Rangel semi.
According to authorities, Vanden Berg died at the scene.
They report the accident is still under investigation.
