Hawarden, Iowa — Twelve young people were charged with alcohol violations after the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office received a “Text-a-Tip.”
They report that early on Sunday, at 12:35 AM, their officers investigated the report that said that a large group of people under the age of 21 were consuming alcohol at a farm building at 2081 400th Street, five miles northeast of Hawarden.
Upon further investigation, deputies did locate several people under the age of 21 consuming alcohol. Deputies charged 12 individuals under the age of 21 with illegal consumption of alcohol; of those 12 people, three were juveniles who were cited and released to their parents.
Additionally, 18-year-old Chantel Caskey of Hawarden was charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Police Department and Sioux County Conservation Office.
