The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that late last week, an arrest warrant and recommittment order were issued for 41-year-old Perry Dale Vande Kieft of Inwood. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vande Kieft was originally arrested on August 7, 2016 on two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree (a class B felony), one count of indecent contact with a child, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He is alleged to have had sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl in the spring of 2015 and again in February or March of this year at Vande Kieft’s home.

After the original arrest, a no-contact order was issued between Mr. Vande Kieft and parties involved in the case. Vande Kieft posted a $30,000 bond to be released on the original charges.

However, the Sheriff’s Office says it was discovered that Vande Kieft was allegedly violating the no-contact order by having contact with one of the protected parties. Due to this violation the arrest warrant and recommittment order was issued with a new bond of $100,000.

He was arrested the next afternoon at his home by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and was transported to the Lyon County Jail were he remains with the $100,000 cash-only bond.

According to the Lyon County Clerk of Court, the trial is scheduled to start on Tuesday, February 7th in Lyon County District Court in Rock Rapids.
