Cooke Resigns SCDC Position

Allison KlettSheldon, Iowa — Allison Cooke has resigned her position as Chamber Director with the Sheldon Chamber and Development Corporation.

Cooke, who has served in that capacity since May of 2012, tells KIWA that she’s leaving the SCDC to pursue an opportunity with Melissa Remme’s State Farm Agency in Sheldon.

She says choosing to make a career change was very hard for her, since she loves her job at the SCDC, and loves the people with whom she works.  But, she said, it just came down to what was best for her and for her family.

Cooke says she is in the process of putting together a binder containing everything she does, and how SCDC events are organized, to allow the others in the office, Development Director Curt Strouth and Office Manage Michelle Honkomp, to continue the operation of the office in a seamless manner.

She says she has no specific starting date for her new position at State Farm, but her resignation from her SCDC position is effective Tuesday, November 8th.
