Weather: Mixed Precip Possible, Then A Warm Up

Northwest Iowa — The weather in northwest Iowa keeps doing what it’s famous for — changing. In the short term, some precip is in the forecast, but soon we should have some more seasonal temperatures.

Meteorologist Kyle Weisser with the Sioux Falls office of the National Weather Service tells us some mixed precip is the first thing we may experience.

He says we’ll probably only get a half an inch of snow or less. According to Weisser, the uncertainty line as for freezing rain verses snow goes right through the heart of our area.

Weisser tells us that after that, we’ll climb the ladder out of the deep freeze and into the refrigerator, as it were.

He tells us they don’t know how long the more seasonable, warmer temperatures will last.

Weisser says it’s really too early for them to accurately predict Thanksgiving weather, but a check of the Old Farmer’s Almanac says our temps will be still cold but more on the mild side, and we could see some flurries.
