Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman faces an assault charge after an incident that reportedly happened this past September at Central Lyon Elementary School.
According to court records, 28-year old Melissa Lockey was cited for Simple Assault, a simple misdemeanor. The citation was reportedly issued Tuesday, October 20th.
The affidavit filed with the court states that the charge stems from an incident in a Central Lyon Preschool classroom, where Lockey has been employed as a preschool teacher. The affidavit accuses Lockey of an “act that was intended to result in physical contact which was insulting or offensive to another.” The affidavit indicates that the incident happened on or about September 9th, and involved a 4-year old student at the school.
