You Can Give The Gift Of Blood In Sibley Wednesday

Sibley, Iowa — Here’s something to add to your list of things for which you are thankful. Blood donors. Blood donors save lives by giving blood, and most people know someone who needed blood at one time or another.

We’re also beginning the Christmas season soon, and as we all know, it’s better to give than to receive. If you or your family has decided to make donating a part of how you celebrate Christmas, Community Blood Bank officials ask you to consider donating blood.

An opportunity to do just that is coming up in Sibley this week, says Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken VerSteeg.

VerSteeg says when we think about Christmas giving, giving blood is one of the best gifts you can give.

He gives us some reminders about giving blood.

Hospital officials say you can call the Osceola Community Hospital Laboratory to make an appointment at 712-754-5358. They tell us you can donate blood every 56 days.

The Community Blood Bank is the sole supplier of all blood and blood products for Osceola Community Hospital. No hospitals in our area, including Osceola Community Hospital receive any blood or blood products from the American Red Cross.
