Boat Destroyed In Hull Area Fire

Hull, Iowa — A newer boat was destroyed in a fire on Friday, May 8, 2026, near Hull.

According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, at about 6:30 p.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a boat on fire attached to a pickup at 3119 290th Street, two miles north and almost two miles west of Hull.

When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the boat fully engulfed. He says they put it out with water and foam.

Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Chief Van Roekel reports that the boat was totaled in the blaze, but the pickup was OK.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about half an hour.
