Sheldon, Iowa — The citizens of Sheldon and the Sheldon City Council will have a chance to find out more about the two finalists for Sheldon City Manager this weekend.

The weekend will start off this Friday, October 9, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The meet-and-greet event will be held on the 3rd floor of the Community Services Center at 416 9th Street.

The meet-and-greet will provide an informal opportunity for members of the community to meet the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about their backgrounds and approach to municipal leadership.

On Saturday, October 10, the finalists will participate in a series of structured panel interviews with representatives from throughout the Sheldon community. The panels will include elected officials, members of the City’s leadership team, and civic leaders. The Sheldon City Council will go into closed session to conduct interviews at a special city council meeting, which will start at 8:00 a.m. in the council chambers. Closed sessions are not open to the public, and — unlike regular city council meetings, which take place almost completely in open session — are not available on YouTube.

For more information, you can contact Sheldon City Hall.
