Hull, Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Construction is officially underway on the Division Street reconstruction project in Hull, with city officials saying crews are now actively working on the major infrastructure overhaul.
Hull City Administrator Heidi Kramer says work began after MidAmerican Energy crews completed utility-related preparations late last week.
Kramer explains that utility poles were moved to make room for paving equipment before construction crews began work on the project this week. She notes DGR Engineering is providing weekly construction updates throughout the process.
Residents have already begun seeing detours and traffic changes in the area as work ramps up.
Kramer says the City is encouraging residents to stay informed through the City of Hull website and Facebook page, where weekly project updates are being posted.
She says city officials understand the project will create disruptions over the coming months.
The reconstruction project includes major underground utility improvements along with roadway work on Division Street. Earlier project information from the City indicated the work would include a new 12-inch water main replacing the existing four-inch line, along with updated sewer and storm infrastructure.
Kramer says the City is now hopeful the project can wrap up earlier than initially projected.
