Sanborn, Iowa– A Hospers man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sanborn on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 11:25 a.m., 20-year-old Jayson Stamer of Hospers was driving a 2005 Freightliner semi westbound on Highway 18, just west of Highway 59 South, less than a mile east of Sanborn, when it is thought that he experienced a medical issue.
The semi is said to have run off the road and into some standing corn in a field owned by Galen Beyer.
SCAT took Stamer to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
The semi sustained basically no damage. The corn was valued at about $100.
