Iowa (RI) — More than 265,000 Iowans have already cast ballots through the first 11 days of early voting, according to the latest figures from the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office.

The tally, released Monday morning, shows nearly 71% of those ballots were cast in person at county auditors’ offices or satellite voting locations.

About 155,000 Iowans requested absentee ballots by mail. As of last Friday, county auditors have received roughly 43% of those mailed ballots.

Democrats hold an early-voting advantage in Iowa’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Congressional Districts, while Republicans lead in the 4th Congressional District, where nearly half of registered voters are Republicans.

Early voting continues through Election Day on Nov. 3rd.
