Statewide Iowa (RI/KIWA) — Forecasters say high temperatures statewide will be in the 70s and 80s for the next few days, but the heat of summer is about to arrive in full force.
National Weather Service meteorologist Alexis Jimenez in the Des Moines office says much hotter conditions are on the way.
A little closer to home, we talked to National Weather Service meteorologist Amanda Penning from the Sioux Falls office. She says there are no heat advisories out yet, partially because it’s still days away.
Penning tells us what to do when the mercury levels in the thermometer, and for that matter, in the hygrometer are both high.
The Sheldon area forecast calls for a possibility of showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Saturday night, and then highs in the mid to upper nineties are expected through at least next Thursday and possibly into the Independence Day weekend.
