Sibley, Iowa — There’s a new County Youth Coordinator for the Osceola County Extension office.
Extension officials tell us Morgan Keene is filling the role.
They say Keene brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, with over 10 years of experience working with middle and high school students as an educator, coach, and school administrator. Keene graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and earned her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. Most recently, she worked in education roles in Northwest Iowa and was an Equestrian Coordinator for a large summer camp in Georgia.
Greta Giese, Regional Director for ISU Extension and Outreach, says that they are excited to welcome Morgan to their team. She says her strong background in youth development, education, and leadership will greatly benefit ISU Extension and Outreach’s work in Osceola County.
Council Chair, Taylor Hibbing, says that she was excited for Keene to get started. Her education, experience, and enthusiasm for youth programs make her a natural fit, and she’s prepared to hit the ground running, says Hibbing. She says that with the strong foundation built by their former CYCs and the baton being passed after this year’s fair, Keene is joining them at just the right time to carry that momentum forward.
We’re told that in her position, Keene will focus on Positive Youth Development, working with youth, volunteers, and professionals to implement educational programs and experiences that advance multiple life skills.
Keene says she’s excited to join ISU Extension and Outreach and looks forward to creating fun, meaningful, and inclusive learning experiences for all young people. She also looks forward to meeting and building relationships with the families, volunteers, and youth in Osceola County.
