Osage, Iowa (RI) — Republican candidate for governor Zach Lahn has raised concerns about tax breaks for new data centers, but he says local officials should retain the power to regulate the facilities.

Lahn says he might support a state law banning tax breaks for data centers.

Lahn made his comments to a crowd in Osage, after being asked about the erosion of local control.

He also says states must challenge federal regulations he believes should be decided at the state level.

Lahn says that if he’s elected governor, he’ll sue the federal government every chance he gets.
