Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.

On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meetings, the list of claims, the approval of second-quarter ambulance insurance adjustments, a temporary outdoor liquor license for Brady’s Pub, a liquor license renewal for Los Tulipanes, a beer permit for Sheldon Truck Plaza, a cigarette permit for Highway Liquor & Smokeshop, a library agreement with the City of Archer, the mayor’s appointment of Dominic Seivert to the Crossroads Pavilion Board, and the approval of satisfaction and release of contract for deed for Dave’s Auto Wash. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.

In new business, the council will hold two public hearings — one on rezoning lots adjacent to Sheldon Crossing and the Trijinks Addition, and one on an easement in the Trijinks Addition. They will also consider the approval of a city manager recruitment agreement with Theia Management Consulting. The council will also hold discussions on the city manager job description and on the liquor liability limit at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center. They will also consider the approval of an engineering agreement for 2nd Avenue Rehabilitation and a proposal for professional services for a 9th Street Reconstruction project between 5th and 6th Avenues. They hope to let bids on that project in the first couple of months of 2027.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
