Sheldon, Iowa — Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon is expanding opportunities for area students pursuing healthcare careers, with applications now officially open for Fall 2027 entry into several key health programs.
The expanded offerings include Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Healthcare Leadership, and Medical Laboratory Technology.
The Medical Laboratory Technology program, previously offered in cooperation with Kirkwood Community College, is now fully an NCC program. NCC also offers a one-semester Phlebotomy Certificate that can be applied toward the Medical Laboratory Technology degree, preparing students for entry-level positions collecting and processing laboratory specimens.
Meanwhile, NCC’s Healthcare Leadership program, which first launched in Fall 2026, is currently recruiting its next class. All three major tracks award an Associate of Applied Science degree.
College officials say prospective students can schedule an in-person campus visit or take a virtual tour of Building H on the Sheldon campus through the college’s website.
To apply for the Fall 2027 semester or to learn more about NCC’s healthcare offerings, prospective students can call 800-352-4907 or visit nwicc.edu.
